The order screen

When fetching orders from bol.com, Prestashop orders are created with the data from bol.com. This way as much of Prestashop’s order processing logic is used which makes it easier for you as a seller.

Note that a single bol.com order that contains several products will be created as several different Prestashop orders.
To limit that inconvenience as much as possible the orders are linked to each other. (More about that below)

Order overview

A bol.com order can be recognized as such because of:

  1. Its payment method reads “bol.com” and
  2. If you haven’t changed this configurable setting: The status reads “New (bol.com)” and is blue.
A bol.com order

It may occur that an imported order contained a product that could not be mapped to a product within Prestashop.
In those cases you may see the following error:

This means that the you (the seller) will need to manually specify which failed order imports should be matched with what products.

You can do so in the Manage failed order imports page.

Order detail view

The order detail view is essentially equal to Prestashop orders
Except for the bol.com order detail section that is only present in bol.com orders.

The image below shows the order detail section of a fictive order.

Bol.com Order Details

The left hand pane titled “bol.com Order Details section” shows order info details, as received from bol.com.

Bol.com Account ID: The account that this order was received for.
This is particularly useful information if you have more than 1 bol.com seller account.
Order ID: The order number the buyer received from bol.com.
Prepaid: False when a buyer buys with a non-immediate payment method such as credit card, cashier’s check or “achteraf betalen”.
True when paid via a direct bank transfer.
Bol.com safeguards the seller for fraudulent orders up to a certain amount. (Generally € 1000,- per month) so generally there is no need to pay attention to this value.
Order Placed: This is the exact date and time the order was placed by the buyer at bol.com
Available to dropshipper: The moment the order was made available to the seller.
There should be very little difference between these times, unless there’s something wrong at bol.com.
Shipping confirmation preview: This shows you with what Transporter code and Track and Trace code (3S code) the order will be marked as shipped at bol.com once you give it the “Shipped (bol.com)” order state.
The predefined value can be changed by clicking the “Edit” button and choosing another value from the list.
If the actual carrier isn’t available in the list then choose “Other” (Anders)

Bol.com Order Item Details

The right hand pane titled “Bol.com Order Item Details” shows the status of the individual order items.
It also shows the progress of the order fulfillment on bol.com’s side.

Once you’ve marked an order as shipped or cancelled, the bol.com connector will inform bol.com about this fact.
Bol.com however needs some time to process this information and, in rare cases, may fail to do so.

Item ID: An identification number assigned by bol.com to this particular item in this particular order.
Product: The name of the ordered product.
Status: The current status of the item. When no action has been taken, there will be no value.
Possible values are:

  • Shipment pending
  • Cancellation pending
  • Shipped
  • Cancelled
  • Error

Cancellation reason: Shows the reason you specified for the cancellation of the item (if applicable)

Bol.com processing outcome: The result on bol.com’s side.
Possible values are:

  • ” ” (Empty)
  • SUCCESS – Everything went well and bol.com processed the order as it should.
  • An error description – Something went wrong. The order message contains more details.

Expected delivery date: Initially the pre-calculated delivery date is shown here.
This is calculated using delivery promise of the product and the order date. It will always default to the latest delivery moment that still complies with what you promise.
So, a product that is delivered next day if ordered before 17:00 will have a Expected Delivery Date of tomorrow if the order was placed before 17:00 or the day after tomorrow if placed later that 16:59.
In case of a 1-8 days delivery promise, 8 days will be chosen.

You can edit this date on order item level.

The significance of order statuses

When you install the bol.com connector, it will create 4 new order statuses:

  1. New (bol.com)
  2. Shipped (bol.com)
  3. Cancelled – Out of Stock (bol.com)
  4. Cancelled – Requested By Customer (bol.com)

These statuses trigger specific behavior:

New (bol.com)

This is the default status for a new order that was received through bol.com.
None of the default Prestashop really applies to the case of the new bol.com order, so this status was introduced.

Shipped (bol.com)

This status tells the bol.com connector to inform bol.com that the order was shipped to the customer.
Bol.com then sends an e-mail to the customer informing him about this fact.

Please provide a tracking number in the “shipping” section of the order before setting the status to “Shipped (bol.com)”. This way, bol.com will include that code in the e-mail to the customer, allowing him to track his package.
Bol.com is actively stimulating sellers to do so.

This status does not trigger any e-mails to be sent by Prestashop. Although this is a requirement of bol.com the bol.com connector will not block you from changing this behaviour.

Cancelled – Out of Stock (bol.com)

This status tells the bol.com connector to inform bol.com that the order was cancelled because the ordered product is (currently) out of stock.
Bol.com then sends an e-mail to the customer informing him about this fact.

Bol.com actively reprimands sellers that cancel too many orders for other reasons than that the customers requested the order to be cancelled.

This status does not trigger any e-mails to be sent by Prestashop. Although this is a requirement of bol.com the bol.com connector will not block you from changing this behaviour.

Cancelled – Requested by Customer (bol.com)

This status tells the bol.com connector to inform bol.com that the order was cancelled because the customer requested the seller to do so.
Bol.com then sends an e-mail to the customer informing him about this fact.

This status does not trigger any e-mails to be sent by Prestashop. Although this is a requirement of bol.com the bol.com connector will not block you from changing this behaviour.
